After a while contrails can get so widespread and thin, that people no longer recognize the man-made cause of these aviation-induced cirrus-like clouds. Dutch meteorologists veil their origin by calling them 'sluierwolken'' (veil-clouds).

The filenames of the pictures contain the dates and times on which they were taken,
in the format cc-yyyymmdd-hhmmss

Contrails lead to aviation-induced cirrus
and thus influence weather, climate and sunlight.
