The visibility of contrails and aviation-cirrus is often very different, depending on which part of the sky you look. Opposite the sun they fade into the the general light-blueness of a sky full of (frozen) watervapour.

The filenames of the pictures contain the dates and times on which they were taken,
in the format cc-yyyymmdd-hhmmss

Contrails lead to aviation-induced cirrus
and thus influence weather, climate and sunlight.
